About the Program

Pratham has been running a sustained learning intervention for over a decade, focusing on children aged 3–14 years. The program spans Anganwadi, primary, and upper-primary grades, combining early childhood education, foundational literacy and numeracy, and subject-specific learning support. The goal is to ensure children build strong learning foundations and progress successfully through school.

Position Overview

The Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering partnerships with schools, communities, and educational institutions. The role involves adapting and contextualizing educational content, organizing and facilitating teacher training, monitoring program implementation, and providing field-level support to teachers. The coordinator also contributes to program review and improvement, serving as a vital link between Central Program Leadership, on-field teaching staff, local government education departments, and school teachers.

Key Responsibilities

A. Program Implementation

  • Conduct outreach and collaboration with schools, communities, and mother groups to introduce Pratham’s initiatives.
  • Coordinate with government departments, block-level teams, cluster volunteers, and school/community institutions.
  • Ensure smooth execution of content roll-out, assessments, training events, and community activities.
  • Provide regular field support, classroom observations, and feedback loops to strengthen quality.

B. Team Management & Coordination

  • Supervise, mentor, and support field staff to ensure clarity on program goals, methodologies, and targets.
  • Monitor on-ground activities to ensure adherence to program objectives and timelines.
  • Conduct regular field visits to review progress, identify challenges, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain consistent communication and follow-up with team members.

C. Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Track program indications and ensure data accuracy.
  • Support field assessments, surveys, monitoring visits, and evaluations.
  • Provide feedback and insights to improve program quality and impact.

D. Stakeholder & Donor Coordination

  • Liaise with donors, government departments, and partner organizations.
  • Share regular updates on program strategies, plans, and schedules.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports aligned with donor requirements and budgets.
  • Assist in organizing trainings, awareness programs, and community outreach activities.

E. Administrative & Operational Support

  • Support documentation, procurement, and compliance-related tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, donor guidelines, and reporting standards.
  • Assist with project-related documentation, donor requirements, and audit preparations.

F. Measurement & Cost Effectiveness

  • Implement Pratham’s monitoring and evaluation strategy at block level.
  • Track progress against academic indicators, training targets, and outreach goals.
  • Ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and reporting.
  • Manage unit costs to ensure cost-effective program operations.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Educational & Professional Qualifications

  • MSW or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

Experience

  • Internal Candidates: Strong understanding of Pratham’s programs in their respective state.
  • External Candidates: Minimum 2–3 years of experience in education or skill development programs, preferably in a coordination role.

 Desirable Skills

  • Excellent communication skills in Kannada, English, and Hindi.
  • Strong organizational, monitoring, and reporting abilities.
  • Ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Problem-solving and independent work management skills.
  • Experience in teacher training, program coordination, or educational project management.
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and work collaboratively with government departments, schools, and community stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to work from the base location or travel frequently to Bangalore as required.
